ReUnion!!!

It is today.

Day 1 of 3.

The Reunion.

A gathering of about 80% of those with whom I shared a period of time that was as exhilarating as it was stressful, as promising as it was challenging and was the season that birthed our introduction to a profession that we have now practised for the last 30years!

UI DVM Class of 95!

We gather in UI to celebrate 30years of being Veterinarians.

Plying our craft in different areas of a vast field of knowledge and practice.

Mostly as Vets but also as different things and bossing it all!

The days leading up to today have been filled with making decisions about what form the reunion would take and I have been so blessed with a front row seat to happenings.

I make bold to say we have been marvelously helped and as much as lies with us humanly, we are ready.

We have a whatsapp group chat and as soon as we started preparing, there have been very many reasons to laugh.

Things have however reached a peak in the days leading up to this day and there have been so many culprits.

I will not name names but one my Chairman like that has been using tests and early lectures to terrify us while another opened pandora's box literally with his archive of pictures (hmmm!).

One Madam promises a culinary snack we all are looking forward to sharing and has a funny and Wasiu-esque travel story while others chuckle and shake their heads in aamusement from far flung places on the earth.

We are in agreement about one thing though, God has been very good to us as a people and a class and we do have too many reasons to thank and praise Him.

I am so excited at the prospect of making new memories with these ones with whom I grew to the stature of whom I desired to be and hoped to achieve great things as a professional.

We are proud of every single last one of us and the milestones and height of our achievements and look forward to even more.

Many will be seeing each other for the 1st time since the end of our studies which culminated in our swearing-in ceremony those many moons ago.

Some others have been in each other's lives in different ways over the years.

We gather, to reminisce, to thank God and to have a great time catching up on each other's lives.

We have few to remember being with us for whom their journeys have ended and we hold their memory dear.

And others who are unable to be physically present but we hope we can virtually carry along as every single person matters.

We are a love family and have ties that run deep.

Here we go, three fun days of re-evaluating the last 30years together as  group and I hope come Sunday, we will heave a sigh of relief that we have achieved the set out goals of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation under the right atmosphere and be re-fired to go in this our might for another length of time till we can gather again.

We commit all to The One who alone has kept, is able to keep and will keep us.

We look forward to fun and an amazing time.

Please keep us in your prayers and if you come across our path as we do this, let us know you are aware of us, we will appreciate it!
