LV season...

 It is my birthday in a few hours and as per usual, I am in the throes of birthday behaviour. 

I am working from home today, a day in a busy week that I had thought would be perfect for a whim I had. 

To do a photoshoot as I like to take pictures (never thought I would say that cos I thought I didnt but I realise I do!). 

My 50th birthday photoshoot made me realise I do like photos. Capturing memories of happenings is a huge fave pastime and I have tons of photos. 

So, on a whim, I had a few outfits I thought would make a photoshoot lovely but as per usual, I was too broke to go make arrangements to do that so I dilly dallied till I told my ladies and they inspired me and fate conspired to make it happen yesterday and I enjoyed the experience. 

The results of the shoot also make me very very happy. 

But the reason I started to write this post was not about all the shalaye above. 

It is actually because of how blessed I feel. 

I have said over and over that, B'aye se fe fun mi ko lori and that is exactly the reason I feel so blessed. 

I thought about putting 55pictures of me together and considering how many photos I've got, that would be an easy task but then I started to think of 55things I have learned in my life that I could share. 

That is what I am going to attempt to do with this post. 

I may not get to 55 as that sounds real far but I will sha try. 

1. God is sovereign. He is able to overrule anything in this life. With Him on your side, you can win even when everyone has ruled you out. 

2. Life is not fair, but God is just. Wait for Him. 

3. The path of life is paved with grace. One mistake does not invalidate you. 

4. Give yourself as many chances as it will take to make it. If you have not, then there is room to try again. 

5. Alone does not mean lonely. You are better off alone than lonely in a crowd.

6. You have a duty to do, face it instead of fighting for relevance. The relevance will come as you do your duty.

7. Love makes life easy. But love itself is not easy. It is hard work but rewards you with a beautiful life.

8. No one is coming to save you. Bros Jay ( Jesus!) has done all the work required. 

9. Be quick to admit when you have done all you can do. If it is not working, try something else. 

10. Children are not a way to redeem yourself. They are humans in their own right. 

11. Friends are special humans . Only because you are special too.

12. Forgive in advance. You also do not know all you have done to offend. 

13. Work does not kill. Laziness can kill in ways that death can't. 

14. Life is in stages. If you do what you ought when you ought, you will not have to do things you consider beneath you at any time. 

15. Enjoyment is sweet when you have earned the right to it. Don't enjoy on credit. 

16. Serving God with sincerity requires hard work and sacrifice.  Anything else is delusion.

17. Walking difficult paths reveals the truth about you to you. 

18. Your memories of your childhood will change depending on the adult you become. 

19. The Bible contains truth. Refusing to believe it does not invalidate its truth. 

20. Help is available for you but you must know where to look. 

21. Lying to one's self is the greatest form of betrayal there is. 

22. There are more ways to do it than you know. You will not find the other ways if you are fixated on your way alone.

23. Growing older is a choice. Growing old is not.

24. There is a gift in you and you get to choose who gets it. 

25. Health is a sum total of your emotions, habits and lifestyle. 

26. Learn to say sorry. It does not kill.

27. Humour is a cloak you can use to deliver so much more than laughter. 

28. Adults are humans who have decided to act with sense, chosen to moderate what they do and accept responsibility for their choices. Not those who have spent a long time on earth.

29. People who are used to getting their own way are triggered by people who have strength of will. 

30. Do not compel people to do things you want. Convince them to see why your way is a better option. 

31. Dance. Alone or with a loved one. But never with an enemy.

32. Allow people their privacy. Allow people their mistakes. If perfection was common, you would be perfect too.

33. Wink at yourself in a mirror. Taking yourself seriously achieves nothing.

34. Pamper yourself for no reason. Someone may see & learn something.

35. You are allowed to make mistakes when learning something new. 

36. Distance is nothing. If you want to, you will.

37. There are enough people on earth that you can change your circle every week and not run out of new people.

38. Food can be medicine or a drug. It can also be a weapon.

39. Don't demand more of people than you are willing to give. 

40. Someone is watching. Make it worth their while.

41. Ice-cream is medicine. 

42. Eat fruits in season. The earth sent them to you.

43. Dream. Especially while awake. 

44. Be kind. You do not need to know what a person is going through to show them compassion.

45. If a person says they love you, believe them. 

46. Time clarifies things. Give everything time.

47. Always start things with the end in mind.

48. Your family matters. Nuclear, extended, church, work. 

49. Cherish memories. Make memories. 

50. Let go of offence quickly. Lest it weigh you down, dragging you beneath the earth.

51. Do not insist on people doing life the way you want it. That is witchcraft. 

52. Affection must be earned. Decency is free for all. 

53. Words are cheap, actions are the real deal.

54. You can go through life being a blessing or a demon. 

55. God loves you more than anyone you will ever meet. 

Oh wow! I got to 55 and still have more in me. Will save those for other times.
